The Wandle Piscators is hosting a public meeting in the upstairs room of the William Morris Public House on the banks of the River Wandle at Merton Abbey Mills. Doors open at 7pm on 30th March and the meeting will start at 7:30pm
The subject of the meeting is the decline in coarse fish in the Wandle over the last few years.
The Environment Agency will present its observations of the river, based on fish survey data, and link this to the local anglers experience, and the Wandle Trust will talk about the habitat restoration work it has been doing on the River Wandle and the benefits to all fish species. This will be followed by an open discussion with the audience.
The EA see this meeting as a chance to get some genuine observations of the river from those that know it best.
This is a great opportunity for all Wandle anglers to tell the EA about their experience of the recent decline of this wonderful river and to share their ideas for its revival.
The meeting is open to all anglers, please come and make sure your concerns are heard.
