Dan Griffiths is the Environment Agency’s new Fisheries Officer for South London, including the Wandle, Hogsmill and Beverley Brook.
He took over from Peter Grey in October 2015 and is just getting familiar with the rivers under his responsibility. Peter himself has moved on to look after the Cray and Darent in SE London.
Dan studied fishery management at Sparsholt and spent a period in the EA Fish Laboratory before moving on to this job.
He will be joining us for our AGM on April 16th and will give a summary of the results of recent electrofishing on the Wandle. He will also tell us about recent restocking on the river and likely future plans for stocking.
If you want to know the latest news about our favourite river, be sure to come along to the talk after by Dan at 7.00pm on Saturday 16th April in the upstairs room of the William Morris at Merton Abbey Mills, this will be directly after the Piscators AGM at 6.00pm in the William Morris pub, Merton Abbey Mills. The seven o’clock session is open to all, however the AGM at six is for members only.
Myself and the rest of the Committee look forward to seeing a few of you there on the 16th April.
